New website for the General Chapter
“The Lord has given me brothers … to go into the world.”
The countdown to our 2024 General Chapter, to be held in Rome at the San Lorenzo International College in Brindisi from August 26 to September 15, has already begun. We are preparing for it by invoking the presence of the Holy Spirit.
The Chapter will be the space where about 180 friars, including Provincials, Custodes and Delegates, together with the Minister and his Council, will meet to reflect on the Order’s journey over the past 6 years, its difficulties, challenges, potential, strengths and changes.
In addition, it will be a suitable space to delve into topics of charismatic interest in order to design paths and help us persevere in fidelity to our vocation and continue to carry out our mission in the Church and in the world, planning together the basic lines of the Order’s journey for the next six years.
But the General Chapter will not only involve the capitulars who will be present in Rome: in fact, it will be accessible to all of us, brothers and sisters around the world who form this great Capuchin family. For this reason, we invite you to follow the news, the themes, the updates, before the Chapter and during its course, to see some images and listen to some words of the most significant moments through the official website of the “86th General Chapter OFMCap” (www.capitulum2024.ofmcap.org ), which from this moment will be active so that we can participate from our local realities in this historic event.
